Global procurement made easier with the NZBN

Find out how the NZBN will make Kiwi businesses more digitally capable and internationally connected.

Using the New Zealand Business Number (NZBN) will make Kiwi businesses more digitally capable and internationally connected. That’s the message from Neville Johnson, Director Enabling Services at New Zealand Government Procurement and Property (NZGPP).

By making it faster and easier to share information, the NZBN plays a key part in preparing New Zealand for a digital-first business environment, which will see Kiwi businesses procuring and supplying goods and services to organisations around the globe.

Neville explains, “The NZBN is the first major step in the digitisation journey for New Zealand. There’s this key opportunity that presents itself to us and that’s around more efficient international trade. And it provides an opportunity to have that much more effective, simple, easy trade with different nations - both our major trading partners and those nations that we want to increase our level of trade with.”

Your NZBN is a globally recognised number, (it’s called a Global Location Number - GLN) so when you use it, any business across the world can recognise you, and use your core business information when they’re interacting with you.

That’s powerful future-proofing for the next wave of digital innovation.

To get started, search for your business on the NZBN Register. If your business doesn’t have an NZBN, get one here.
